13Days -12Nights Itinerary

Yangon– Mandalay– Mingun- Amarapura- Inwa- Sagaing- Pyin Oo Lwin- Bagan- Salay- Mt Popa- Kalaw- Pindaya- Inle 

DAY 1: Arrive Yangon 

Arrive at Yangon International Airport and welcome by our tour guide. After check in to the hotel, start the sightseeing of Yangon includes Sule Pagoda, City   hall, high Court, Mahabandoola Park. Then we visit to 72m long reclining Buddha of Chauk-Htat-Gyi Pagoda and Karaweik Hall, floating barge on Kandawgyi Lake. Moreover we will continue to The Fruit Market, China Town where you   can see the bustling life of the city. After that drive to Shwedagon Pagoda before the sunset and enjoy the beauty stupa while it changes the shining of gold in different tones according to the radiant of the setting sun.

DAY 2: Yangon – Mandalay (By Flight)

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Mandalay. Upon arrival check into your chosen hotel before continuing by car to the mighty Ayeyarwady River for the one hour boat ride to Mingun, home of the huge and famous unfinished Pagoda. Return to the city via Kuthodaw Pagoda, ‘the world’s largest book’ and enjoy the panoramic sunset views over the city from Mandalay Hill.

Day 3: Mandalay – Sagaing – Amarapura – Innwa

After breakfast at the hotel, take the local ferry to the former capital of Innwa (Ava), located on an island between the Ayeyarwaddy and the Myitnge Rivers, 21km south of Mandalay. Have horse cart ride through the ancient city walls to visit “Maha Aungmye Bonzan” a brick and stucco monastery. Climb up the top of “Nanmyin Watchtower” to have lovely views over the river. If time permits, visit some local handmade workshops are mats and alms bowls. Continue to the impressive wooden monastery of “Bagaya Kyaung”, former "monastic college" for the royals. Then drive to Sagaing. Visit the glittering Swan Oo Pon Nya Shin and U Min Thonze Pagoda. Continue to Amarapura via the Ava Bridge, built by British engineers. Visit a weaving workshop for silk & cotton and walk over the U Bein Bridge – the world's longest teak bridge.

Day 4: Mandalay – Pyin Oo Lwin (Day return)

Morning, the car will pick you up for a full day visit to the colonial hill station of Pyin Oo Lwin, formerly known as Maymyo. Sightseeing in Pyinoolwin includes Mahaanthtoo Kanthar pagoda, National Kandawgyi Garden, and Pwekauk Waterfall. Walk through downtown to see the colonial buildings. Drive back to Mandalay.

Day 5: Mandalay – Bagan (By Boat)

Relax today. We will watch the rural heartland of the ‘Dry Zone’ of central Myanmar slowly drift by on the Ayeyarwady River boat journey to Bagan. We will pick you up and check you in to your hotel on arrival.

Day 6: Bagan 

Optional dawn champagne balloon ride over the pagodas of Bagan. After breakfast enjoy a full days exploration of the Bagan archaeological zone including highlights such as Shwesandaw and Gawdawpalin. Spend some time observing the work at a lacquer ware factory and watch the sunset from one of the tallest pagodas.

Day 7: Bagan – Sale– Mont. Popa

After breakfast today your air-conditioned car will bring you out of Bagan to the less-visited monasteries of Salay. Continue on to Mt Popa, the ‘Nat’ worship centre of Myanmar; the shrine atop a volcanic tower. Then back to Bagan.

Day 8: Bagan – Heho - Kalaw

After your breakfast transfer to the airport for the short flight to Heho. On arrival your car will meet you for the scenic drive to Kalaw, the British-era colonial hill station. Spend the afternoon browsing the market and enjoying the cool hill breezes.

Day 9: Kalaw – Pindaya – Inle

Enjoy breakfast and meet your car for the drive past Danu and Pa O hill-tribe villages to Pindaya. Spend a few hours exploring the town and the famous caves on a ridge above Boat Ta Loke Lake. Continue in the afternoon onto Inle Lake and your chosen hotel.

Day 10: Inle (Full-day sightseeing)

After breakfast, start full day’s exploration of the Inle Lake area. Firstly, visit to colorful morning market. Photograph the Intha fishermen’s leg-rowing technique, meet the local tribal people and observe the fascinating local cottage industries. Visit the now famous ‘jumping cat’ monastery called Ngaphe Chaung Monastery and Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda with its five sacred gold-covered Buddha images. You can see the amazing sunset view in Inle Lake.

Day 11: Inle – Indein

In the morning, visit Indein Village (45 mins) on the western shore of the lake to visit ancient Shweinndein Pagoda, a moundering maze of stupas. The ruined stupas were found in the bushes years ago. After that visit to one of this places where silversmith workshops, traditional weaving industry, blacksmith and cigar making factory.

Day 12: Inle – Yangon (By flight)

After breakfast board your boat for a trip across the lake to an ethnic 5-day market. Continue onto the 'floating' village and market of Ywama. Explore the stilted villages and floating gardens before crossing the lake to Nyaungshwe town. Drive to Heho for your afternoon flight to Yangon. Transfer on arrival to your chosen hotel.

Day 13: Departure from Yangon

Have breakfast at your hotel. There may be time for a little last-minute shopping at Scott Market called Bogyoke Market before your transfer back to the airport for your onward flight. If you are departing on an evening flight we can arrange another excursion for today.
