13 Days/12 Nights Itinerary (Cruise Tours)



Arrive at Yangon Airport and transfer to hotel. Afternoon, Yangon sightseeing  includes Sule Pagoda, dating back over 2000 years ago; Chauk Htat Gyi  Reclining Buddha Image; Karaweik Hall, a royal floating barge and Shwedagon Pagoda, one of the most spectacular monuments. If you arrival at Yangon in the evening, welcome by guide and transfer to hotel.

After breakfast at hotel, drive north east out of Yangon for about 2 hours to the ancient capital of Bago (Pegu). Firstly visit to the local market before going to see Shwemawdaw Pagoda which has a stupa with richly diamonds and is Bago’s golden landmark. See Shwethalyaung Buddha-the most beautiful Reclining Buddha. Take a look also Mahazedi Pagoda either its impressive bell-shaped stupa. Just outside Bago, visit Kyaikpun Pogoda with 430 metre high Buddha figures seated back to back. After that, visit to the Kanbawzathadi Palace, Bago is a Palace that was home to the former King of Bago, King Bayinnaung. An optional tour is included the British War Cemetery near Htauk Kyant. Then return to hotel.

Breakfast and transfer to airport for your flight to Mandalay. Upon arrival, at Mandalay airport, transfer to your hotel. Tour highlights includes: Shwesandaw Monastery, the only remaining apartment of Mandalay Palace noted for its intricate woodcarving; Kuthodaw Pagoda, known as the world largest Book; Mandalay Hill; 230 meters in elevation, commands a magnificient view of the city and surrounding countryside; Mandalay Palace, Mahamuni Pagoda, the pleasant-looking image, ever being proportionate though daily overlaid with gold- leaves and Traditional Handicraft workshop, Then proceed to The Ancient Capital Amarapura and 1.2km long U Bein Bridge, after which drive over Innwa(Ava) Bridge across the Ayeyarwaddy to picturesque Sagaing Hills, a retreat for Buddhist devotees with numerous pagodas and monasteries.

Breakfast and transfer to Mayanchan Jetty, board on a local fisherman boat for Mingun across Ayeyarwaddy river (11 km, approx.1 hour). Observe the world’s largest ringing bell cast by Bodawpaya in 1080 weighing 55555 Viss which calculated equal to 90tons and Mingun Pahtodawgyi, an enormous pile of bricks, is all that remain of King Bodawpaya ambition to make it the world’s largest Buddhist stupa.
Return back to Mandalay. Then proceed to Sagaing, with its 600 white painted pagodas and monasteries. Sagaing Hill is widely regarded as the religious centre of Myanmar, being home to 3000 monks and 100 meditation centers. Enjoy fantastic sunset view from the 200 years old U Bein Teak bridge span across Taungthaman Lake.

Breakfast and depart for Monywa and further travel to Poe Win Taung, this extraordinary complex consist of 947 sandstone caves dug out of the hills and contains what is considered by archaeologist to be richest collection of mural paintings and Buddhist statues in South East Asia.

Return to Monywar and visit unique Thanboddhay Pagoda, decorated either the most beautiful stucco work in the country and proceed to Mandalay.

Breakfast and transfer to Sagaing for your Bagan bound cruise. For those without the time for a longer classic Pandaw cruise between the two ancient capitals of Burma. You will see the best of river life with a stop in the old colonial village of Sameikkhon.

In the late afternoon we stop at Yandabo, a village specialize in Pot-Marketing, where the peace treaty of the Anglo-Burmese war was signed on Feb. 24, 1826. Moor overnight near the village of Shwe Nann Tint.

Early in the morning we proceed downriver to Bagan. After breakfast (if time permits) we visit another typical river village. Enjoy the sunrise near Bagan. Time to disembark at Bagan 10:00 and transfer to your hotel. Tour highlights in Bagan include Ananda Temple with four huge standing Buddha images, Andanda Oakkyaung, Thatbyinnu Temple, Bu Pagoda, Dhammanyangyi,  Gu Byauk Gyi, a temple with exquisite murals of Jataka scenes, Htilominlo Temple and Manuha Temple, built in Mon-Style in 1095; and Nanphaya Temple. Afterwards, also visit to Lacquer Ware Shop and go to Buphaya to watch the sunset over the famous Ayeyarwady River. Then back to hotel.  Overnight hotel in Bagan


After breakfast, drive to Mt.Popa 45km from Bagan. Mt.Popa, an extinct volcano with spectacular views. Then, continue to Sale lying on the east bank of the Ayeyarwaddy River. Excursion Sale with a visit one of the best 18th century wood carving works at Yoke Son Monastery and a unique Buddha Image made of Lacquered wicker work. 

Return to Bagan. At the evening continue Bagan Horse Cart Tour to Nyaung Oo Market, Shwezigon Pagoda, built by King Anawrahta in the early 11th century, and some of Old Bagan Temples. After see the sunset at one of the temple, turn back to hotel.

Breakfast and transfer to airport for your Heho flight. From Heho, a scenic one-hour drive leads to Nyaung Shwe, the gateway village to Inle Lake.  Then visit to Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the lake’s main sanctuary, which contains five sacred Buddha images covered in gold leaf, Ngaphechaung monastery (also known as jumping cat monastery), local methods of fishing, weaving factory and blacksmith. Enjoy the Amazing sunset view in Inle Lake.

Breakfast and visit Indein Ruins of complex whose Pagodas and Stupas were built in the eighth century. There are a number of shops along the hills for you to enjoy.
Return back to Inle Lake, lunch stop at one of the local restaurants and explore to the villages, farms and some of the local villages to observe their daily life.

Today enjoy a full day boat trip to the southern part of Inle Lake. The village Kyainkham near Kyauktaing  is famous for the production of fiber made out of Lotus trunks. These fibers are mainly used to weave Robes for the monks. You will leave the Lake and continue through the narrow channel to the southern part of the lake. Arrive at Thakong, visit Thakong Pagoda. Continue to Sangar village, which was once a Shan prince village. Walk through this quite village, talk to the villager and visit the remains of some old pagoda. Not much has changed over the centuries….  You may also stop a local rice wine distillery. Observe the local methods of producing high degree alcohol fermented and extracted from bran rice. You will get insight into the un-spoilt culture and traditional life style of the ethnic Pa-O and Inntha inhabitants around Sagar and Hmawbi. Enjoy the beautiful Landscape, flowering trees and numerous settlement dotted on both sides of the canal. Evening, we return to the hotel at Inle Lake.

Breakfast and transfer to Nyaung Shwe village (approx. 1hour) and then surface transfer to Heho (27 km, approx. one hour) for your return flight to Yangon. Upon arrival at Yangon, visit National Museum to observe the Lion Throne of King Thibaw, the last king of Myanmar.

Lunch stop and continue to visit Bogyoke Market, a sprawling 75-years-old shopping complex noted for its variety of handicrafts, providing an excellent chance for a shopping spree!

Breakfast and rest of the morning doing some last minute shopping at Bogyoke Market called Scott Market.
Upon your departure time, transfer to the airport for your flight back to your home.
